Hottubs and Water

Personal spas are very popular in this part of the world, and have actually been popular in nearly every part of the world, in some shape or form.  For centuries, people have been reaping the benefits of soaking in hot water for periods of time.  In some cultures, it’s a very elaborate ritual, and in others, it’s simply a fun thing to do.  You’ll enjoy your hottub, whether it’s for social gatherings or for the personal health benefits, and it will bring smiles to the faces of those closest to you.  Hottubs have a way of bringing people together, and it’s a certain primal pleasure to soak together.

The combination of heat, massage from the jets, and buoyancy on the cells in the body, is a spectacular combination, and it relieves stress almost instantly, but works deeper on the body the longer you stay in it.  One of the more wonderful things about the tub, is that you will start to react to the heat more quickly, and the relaxation can get deeper, and even more pleasant.   The body likes to be in water that’s hotter than itself.  It’s interesting when you consider that we’re more comfortable being in water that’s either a little cooler than 98.6 degrees for swimming, and a little hotter for relaxing.

The body likes water, period.  Some schools of healing suggest that drinking water at warmer temperatures is good for the health.  Drinking hot water has the effect of cooling the body, oddly enough.  It’s the same idea as eating hot peppers in warm climates, to make the body sweat to meet the temperature outside, and making it cooler.  There are some who will argue that it doesn’t really matter if the drinking water is hot or cold, because it will rehydrate either way.  These things are worth looking into, or at least daydreaming about, while you’re relaxing in your new hottub.
