The Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, also known as Victoria Station, provides some of the most ornate architectural designs in Mumbai and is considered to be one of the most beautiful stations in the world. The British built this railway station in 1888, and it contains a statue of Queen Victoria on its dome. It was also the queen that the station was named after. It is the headquarters of India’s Central Railways and one of the busiest in the country. The station took ten years to complete, and was worth the time and effort. It’s elaborately detailed ornate facades or only one of the structural elements that make it so prestigious.
